New York Certificate of Change - How To

In order to successfully change your New York registered agent on your own, you will need to complete the Certificate of Change for New York. You can then mail, fax, or deliver the forms in person. The best way to cut down on the processing time without expediting is to fax the completed forms. You should keep in mind that there are two different forms for New York LLCs and New York Corporations.
To complete the Certificate of Change in New York follow these steps:
State the name of your Business Entity
Leave the boxes titled “1” and “2” blank, as you are only changing your registered agent.
List the name and address of your new registered agent in the first box under box “3.”
Sign and date the form, as well as listing whether you are a member or manager of the business.
Restate the name of your business entity.
List your name and street address for return mailing.
Attach the $30 filing fee in the form of check, money order, or complete a debit card authorization form.
Send or deliver to the New York Secretary of State.
